Poor Kimball had a very high fever yesterday that wavered between 101-102 degrees at its highest. I noticed it in the middle of the night when he woke up. The little guy had a bad night, and moaned in his sleep from 4am to 8am. I suspected a reaction to either the flu vaccine or any of the other vaccines he received the day before. The doctor thought it was just a viral infection unrelated to the shots. But doesn't that seem like a strange coincidence?
They did a urine, blood, and strep test. All results were normal, except for a slight decline in some white blood cell counts. We've just been giving him Tylenol, and right now his temperature is almost back to normal. His behavior is certainly back to normal! It was so sad to see him yesterday, not wanting to even crawl around. I think he saw more TV yesterday than he has in his whole life. We watched the animated version of his favorite book, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, on YouTube three times, a bunch of the original Disney's Fantasia, some of Fantasia 2000, and we watched some of Toy Story 2 in the waiting room of the lab until he fell asleep. He just sat pathetically on our laps. I felt so bad for him, but I am so happy that he is his cheerful, rambunctious self again today!

That makes me feel so bad for him. There is NOTHING worse than not being able to fix what is wrong with your child. If they Tylenol doesn't work, try the infant Motrin. That always seems to help Addison when she has a fever better than Tylenol.
PS. If it makes you feel any better, Addison once had a fever of 106.8! I thought her brain was melting! LOL
Oh, darn! Sick babies are so sad, but still so cute! Glad to hear he is feeling better!
Kimball is such a sweetheart. Kisses.
Jen: 106.8?? That is SO scary. I'm glad she was ok!
I am glad that he bounced back quickly! He is such a little sport!
Poor little guy. I hate being sick. I can only imagine what it's like for him when he doesn't understand what's going on. I'm glad he's feeling better.
No lie, it was 106.8. It turned out that she had a really bad bladder infection.
Small world...the exact same thing happened to Addie. She got her flu shot yesterday and woke up at 2:00 this morning with a fever. Poor kids!
