Little Reader

I noticed on the Google homepage today that it is the 40th anniversary of Eric Carle's The Very Hungry Caterpillar. We have this book in cardboard style and read it to Kimball sometimes. It is one of my favorites!

We think Kimball enjoys being read to. He has a pretty long attention-span and usually stares at the pages as we read them. Here he is listening to Are You My Mother and Baby Bear, Baby Bear, What Do You See?

Other great literary works that he has read include Goodnight Moon, Corduroy, Go, Dog, Go!, The Cat in the Hat, Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You?, Just Me and My Dad, and Spot from the Dick and Jane Collection.

Happy Spring!!

I find it funny that Jordan is reading "Are you my mother?" But, as a teacher, I applaud your reading!

If I had one mantra to shout, it would be, "Read to your kids!" I'm such a believer!

Once you guys finish with the Dick and Jane series, maybe you can start Kimball in on Atlas Shrugged. He'll get a big kick out of that, I'm sure :-)

Ha ha, actually when I feed him I try to talk to him but sometimes I don't really know what to say, run out of ideas for fairy tales, etc. So yesterday I picked up my copy of To Kill A Mockingbird with my free hand and started reading it out loud. He can't understand it, but he can't understand Dick and Jane either!
