Update Part 4: What Kimball's been up to

Kimball has adjusted so well to his new home here in California! The drive down, while not fun, was fairly easy. I drove the first four hours or so, while my dad entertained Kimball in the backseat, then I sat with Kimball for the rest of the way. He finally slept (though not deeply) for a couple of hours, and kept himself busy by kicking me in the arm the rest of the way. We made it before bedtime, and Jordan had already set up much of Kimball's room, trying to make the layout resemble that of his old room. Kimball rushed in the room, stopped dead in his tracks, and grinned when he saw his crib with its familiar sheets. His sleeping had been great this whole time, something I was worried about. Also, he has dropped one of his naps and now takes a 2 or 3 hour nap every afternoon!

Speaking of sleeping, Kimball has become so inseparable with his little sun hat (we call it his beach hat), that he insists on taking it to bed with him. "Hat! Hat!" he demands. It's the least I can do for the little guy.

He also loves the sun glasses that Aunt Marian got for him. Enough to sleep in!

Remember the pearl necklace that he likes to wear around his head? Last night he had it on under his hat. I wouldn't normally let him sleep with it, in case it broke or choked him, but I didn't know he was wearing it under the hat. When I came in late at night to check on him, I found a single "pearl" (they're not real, of course) on the mattress, and thought "ohhhh no….". It quickly became obvious that all of the pearls had gathered under his little sleeping body. Maybe I should have left it until morning, but I didn't want him to sleepily eat a pearl when he woke up and choke on it. As I was trying to collect all the pearls, he stared to stir, and I realized that a bunch of them were inside his pajamas! How this kid does the things he does, I don't know. I asked if I could change his diaper, and he nodded yes. By this time he was smiling because I was smiling and stifling my laughter. When I laid him down and unsnapped the bottoms of his pajamas, out rolled at least 10 pearls! We were all laughing by now, though I don't think Kimball got the joke. Luckily, he was sweet and cuddly, and went right back to bed after a story and a glass of milk.

He's been up to other shenanigans in his sleep, or rather, when he is supposed to be sleeping, but isn't:

Kimball still loves The Music Man, and one day insisted that his four dinosaurs watch it with him.

His taste in movies has expanded, thankfully, though I do try hard to keep the movie-watching at a minimum. Some of his favorites are The Fantastic Mr. Fox, Kung-Fu Panda, Mary Poppins, The Jungle Book, and Disney's The Gnome-Mobile.

Kimball loves the clothes pins that we use to hang up the laundry, and one day wanted me to attach them all over his clothes! He thinks they are lots of fun, but now is a little more cautious since one pinched his hand!

Excited for his Uncle Seanie to come home from Honduras in two weeks, he got all dressed up in missionary garb. Just a little something to give to his uncle, since the two have never met!

I think that about does it for catching up. Now back to our regularly scheduled program!

I love your tiny missionary! What a little sweetie! I'm sure his dinosaurs enjoyed the movie as much as he did!

These pictures are adorable! He looks like he is going to be a "sprawler" as he sleeps; you better think about getting a queen-size bed for him pretty soon :D

I've already gotten a 5X7 glossy of Elder Kimball developed for Elder Sean to find hiding under his pillow!

Ashley and Jordan, you have one adorable little kid there!

I especially love the picture of Kimball and the dinosaurs watching the Music Man. Too cute! (Has Kimble seen Hello, Dolly! yet? Mom could sing along for him :D)

I can't believe Sean is coming home in two weeks. I hope he has a safe journey, and I also hope you get a lot of pictures of Kimball meeting Uncle Sean for the first time. :)

I love the little missionary! He is so stinking cute!
Addison has to sleep with whatever new toy/stuffed animal that comes her way, so I sympathize with the hat and sunglasses. I also love that Kimball's dinosaurs had to watch the movie with him! Too cute!!!

Oh he is just true-blue California now, sleeping with his hat and glasses (and I'm sure a little sand always gathering at the bottom of his crib!). So cute!! And that missionary picture is the best. So glad to hear things are going so well.
