Little Reader

Kimball loves to read! He used to sit quietly while I read him a story, page by page. Now he is taking control and turns the pages at his own pace, even rejecting books he doesn't feel like reading at the moment. He has favorites that come and go, and knows all of his books by name. He likes to read in the car, and I love finding him in his room or sprawled on the floor reading by himself. This isn't to say that he does this for more than a few minutes at a time, but it happens several times a day! If I mention an item or phrase from a book, he points off into the distance and says "uhhh! uhhh!", which means, "like in my book, mama!"

A collection of pictures of our little reader:

This book is appropriately titled "Reading".

Kimball also has an interest in "grownup" books with no pictures.
He loves carrying around "The Tempest" and I tell him the names
of the characters on the cover.

I absolutely love that Kimball is reading Shakespeare...that is a classic set of photos if I've ever seen one! I'm still working on getting Addie to sit still longer than 3 minutes at a time :).

Those pictures are way cute. I love to see little kids loving books. I always hope they'll continue to love reading, unlike me, until I was older.

Our Will is the same way. It melts your heart, doesn't it? It gets even cuter as they get older and can "read" the books to you, in their toddler language. I LOVE it!

Oh, I love this baby boy more and more every day! And now that he is a reader like me (and like you and like Jordan), he is part of the coolest club around! Et tu, Brutus?

I love listening to budding readers read to themselves. I think that is probably my most favorite thing Addison does right now. I love the pictures of Kimball lounging in his green jammies reading. Too cute!

Such cute pictures! That is great that he is so interested in reading! I love the pictures where he is looking at books all snuggled up with his blanket.
