A Smattering of Thoughts

I think many of you may disagree with me on this, but I've been loving this weather lately! (Except Sunday, that was just a little too chilly.) But I love the rain, and I hope we get lots more. I would be happy if it rained for an hour every day, and then cleared up. I especially enjoyed the thunderstorms on Saturday. I love sitting indoors watching and listening to rain and thunder outside. Yummy! (Plus I don't have to water the garden on our front steps, which I usually forget to anyway...)

I was sweeping the kitchen floor the other day, and noticed a little cloud of something in a far corner. Upon closer inspection, I saw that it was a little spider web, complete with the spider herself (I choose whether it's a boy or girl, and it's a girl), and about 30 or so of the pesky tiny flies that have been around our apartment lately. They could be fruit flies, but I'm pretty sure they have been attracted to/coming from some of the dead plants around the house (my fault). They're annoying little things, so instead of sweeping up the little spider, I decided to let her stay. She's had more success killing off those flies than I have trying to clap them between my hands, which is gross. Plus, the spider's only about 2 milimeters long, not much bigger than the flies themselves. Too tiny to bother anyone. Thanks, Charlotte!

I was also watching some clothes swish around in the washer the other day (for some reason, something that totally entrances me, by the way), and I felt very grateful for my washer and dryer. Even though the washer sometimes won't start the spin cycle on its own, and I have to go open the door and give it a litte spin to get it going--hey, it was only $90, I'm not complaning! At our old apartment we used to use a laundromat, which was annoying because we had to collect quarters whenever we could, it ended up being quite expensive, and we had to lug our laundry to and fro. Now, especially with baby laundry, doing several loads a week is no big deal. I love having my washer and dryer! Having to swap a dishwasher in the old place for having them in our new place was totally worth it.

Kimball's visit to the doctor today went great! I didn't even realize that they had placed the IV until I looked at his hand, and there it was! Not a peep. And he squinted and grinned and flirted with all the nurses again. He's our happy little man!

It's so fun to think of little Kimball as a flirt! It's those beautiful eyes that do it! I bet he practices winking when no one is looking!

I actually love the rain too. I missed a lot of it, but I enjoyed it on Sunday, even though it was a tad bit too cold.

Are you my daughter? Spiders as pest control? Actually, that's pretty efficient but just a touch creepy for me.

I'm so glad there is an end in sight for Kimball's chemo!!! What a good little trooper he has been through all of this! And you and Jordan deserve the "Parents of the Year" award!!!
