What a great Mom!

I just thought I'd share with you all a little story about Ashley. Last night Ashley stayed up with me while we edited and reviewed an article I'll be presenting today during a workshop until around 2am (I was up till around 5:30am). Today I called Ash during a break between my classes. We exchanged stories about our day. I told her how I had sat patiently through two hours of intense discussion about William James with about three hours of sleep, and how Ash had spent two hours at the park playing with Kimball. We both had to go (Kimball was calling "Ma maAA"), so Ashley ended the conversation with, "okay, I've got to go and be a horsey, Kimball wants a ride. Love you, bye." There was no exasperation in her voice. She sounded as though Kimball had come up with a brilliant idea and it was time to execute it. That is the kind of mother Ashley is. She loves her family more than anything and she is happy to give Kimball "a ride" even when she's exhausted.

I love her as I'm sure all you do as well. However, I think I can safely say, I love her a little more.

P.S. I'm sorry about the public display of affection, but I just couldn't help it. We all need a little recognition sometimes and Ashley's was, and usually is, overdue.

Sweetheart, this was so kind of you! Thank you for taking time out of your very busy day to write these loving words. It means a lot! I'm sure everyone also knows that you are an amazing daddy, and Kimball and I love you so much.

You need never apologize for showing appreciation for the person who deserves it most! I loved this Jordan! Yes, Ashley is wonderful. Thanks for taking the time to tell her so, and sharing it with all of us.

Love you guys!

While I take exception to your statement that you love Ashley a little more than the rest of us (let's call it a draw, haha!), it thrills me to no end that you say that you do and that you act like you do and that you treat her like you do. I'd say everyone in this equation is a winner: Cowboy Kimball, Ashley the patient mama horsey, and Jordan the rancher who both gives and receives.

This post is lovely, Jordan.

What a sweet, kind post! I think it is neat that you as the husband recognize all that your wife does for both you and your little family. I love this!!!
