Happy Easter!

It seemed awfully early to celebrate Easter this year, but we had a great time yesterday. We had breakfast and Easter bread with Jordan's family, then went with them to church. During church, Kason (4) started getting squirmy, so Jordan told him the story of the resurrection. Jordan asked, "what do you think happened to Jesus' spirit when his body died?" Kason thought for a moment, then answered, "um, he got a robot body?" (This kid is in love with super heroes and action figures!)

We had dinner at my family's house, and celebrated Easter, my mom's birthday, Grandma Sagers' birthday, Aunt Marian's birthday, and any other exciting March event that anyone could think of. It was especially fun to have Uncle Sherm and his daughters Lindsay and Jamie, and Jamie's little baby Jordan! Thanks for all the wonderful food and for my new Easter dress, mom!

Jordan and I played an early April Fool's joke on my dad. We made a chocolate cake and brought it for dessert. After my dad had eaten some and told us that it was good, we announced to everyone that it had beets in it (his least favorite food in the whole wide world). He got all flustered and started trying to say that he could taste it all along, but we knew that we had fooled him! The recipe is from a book that tells you how to add vegetable purees into different recipes so you can sneak them to your kids (or your dad!).
