Ashley is so cute. She ordered bumper stickers and pins from the internet that say "Obama '08". She has always told me how stupid bumper stickers are but she really wants to make a difference this year. We are so excited because it is really starting to look like Obama might win the nomination. If Hillary wins you can count on our enthusiasm dying out, but if Obama wins I really think that he'll at least try to breach the divide in Washington. I'm so sick of all the partisanship out there. All it really does is serve to maintain power for the parties. Ashley and I strongly believe in our convictions, but we also believe that we are not infallible and that the best way to keep from making the really big mistakes is reaching across from the aisle, the railroad tracks, or any other divide and listen to others. Abraham Lincoln packed his entire cabinet with some of his biggest rivals and he listened to them. He didn't always take their advice, but he understood that we have to listen to those who disagree with us if we are going to be on truly firm ground. Anyway, I'm so proud of Ashley, she is even more geared up than I am sometimes. God Bless America.
PS. She still doesn't like bumper stickers so we are taping it onto the back window.
