Aquarium Visit

(Kimball's favorite exhibit, the lagoon jellyfish)

I recently won some tickets to the Birch Aquarium at a fundraising meeting for our local YMCA. I never win anything! And then, I embarrassingly won tickets to the science museum the next week. It's someone else's turn to win the raffles now.

Anyway, I decided on a whim that we'd visit the aquarium after lunch today. The weather was beautiful, crowds were minimal, and Kimball was an amazing little visitor. Jordan drew a few animals in his notebook ahead of time so Kimball could go on a scavenger hut for them. He saw shrimp (being fed to fish), seahorses, crabs, sharks, jellyfish, octopuses, eels, and much more. He was so engaged, pointing things out, asking questions. He still had moments of just wanting to climb on rocks and railings, but it was so delightful to enjoy the aquarium with a child old enough to really appreciate it.
