So, to begin...
One of the first things that happened this month was the wedding of my dear friend-since-kindergarten, Tina, to her sweetheart Kevin in early June. I was able to go to Chicago to attend, and spent the week with my other two dear friends-from-grade-school, Christine and Rachel. We had so. much. fun. When I returned, both Jordan and my mother in law commented on how relaxed I seemed. I told them I need to do this at least every two years. If not more!
The Bride arriving in her personal Rolls Royce! This is the best picture of her I got, unfortunately! She was so gorgeous.
Christine, Rachel, me. Besties.
Tina's (the Bride's) younger brother Jeff. How and when did he get so tall?? This is the little kid who lived across the street
and helped us with our home movies!
(and maybe even broke one of our tv's once,
but I'll need to check my sources...)

Downtown Naperville--my hometown. In front of none other than Lou Malnati's: famous deep-dish Chicago-style pizza!
Yeah, baby.
The famous Riverwalk. Home of ducks, kids feeding ducks, bridges, buskers under the bridges...
...paddle boats (we arrived seconds too late to paddle boat)...
...and this...? Um, what? This is a new statue of Dick Tracy.
His creator was a local.

I'm not sure what I think of it yet (it's huge), but it makes for some great pictures.
The Barnes and Noble downtown Naperville. We never remember who this lady is, some famous journalist I think.
We're sharing some good stories here.

Cookie Dough Creations! Where you can get a cup full of ice cream and cookie dough, or on second thought, just hold the ice cream!
On our way to Racine, WI, to see Rachel's place.
The Mars Cheese Castle?
Coolest dressing room ever.
Lake Michigan!
Got to see my high school choir and
history class buddy Melanie for the afternoon.
history class buddy Melanie for the afternoon.
One of the sweetest people I know.
We went to this theater where they serve you dinner and dessert during the movie. Each theater is themed from top to bottom. Ours was an ocean theme--appropriate since we saw the latest Pirates movie. Here is Rachel standing under several creeping and mysterious sea creatures.
Harvey!
Funny bathroom signs.
It was a great trip, but I couldn't wait to see my little Kimball. He was so cute when I came home--almost shy. He crawled in my lap and sat there quietly for quite a while--but then it was back to his usual rambunctious self!

Cute pictures Ashley! Kimball did miss you so much. It was the sweetest thing to see how much more secure he was when you came home. I can only hope for a portion of that lovin' when Kimball comes back to San Diego. I'M SO EXCITED!
Looks like a grand old time in Chicago. I've only been there on business. I definitely need to go to spend some fun time there.
What a fun trip down memory lane! So glad you came home relaxed!
Looks like fun! It's always nice to get a good vacation in there somewhere.
(I love your red dress, by the way!)
I'm really happy that the trip made you feel relaxed. We definitely all need to get together more!
p.s. How did Jeff brake your tv...I don't know that story...
I can't believe you were in town and didn't stop by and say hi! I would have dropped everything to see you. =(
Kat, I thought about you, for sure! There were so many people I would have loved to see. Unfortunately, I planned a pretty short trip and it was pretty packed. Next time--I promise!
